"This is mine - I want to take it with me"  (-;

Quite funny - I have a road named after some of my ancerstors.

I have known about the existance of this road for a long time, but I have never had the chance to visit it... Some weeks ago I was in Løgstør for other reasons, and I had to drive into Aalborg to have a look at the road sign.

In the old days, Christian Vang (The cousin of Niels Langbein Bonnesen) was running "Vangs Teglværk" (English: Vangs Brickyard) around the year 1900.

Niels Langbein Bonnesen bought the brickyard from Christian Vang and he ran this for a shorter period, after when he then sold the property to Aalborg Kommune (the Aalborg County).

The Aalborg Kommune then turned the area into a mixed zone with a residential area and a recreative area.

Where the clay (to make the bricks) had been dug up, there now is a beautiful lake, where people come to feed the birds. That is... Aalborg Kommune recommend not to do so, as this also will increase the possibility to attract rats.

In case you know anything about this history of this area of central Aalborg, I will be very happy to know about it - and in case you have some corrections to the above, please drop me a line...
